MALTESE CROSS: Sow indoors in March to bloom the first year. Flowers will be larger and of brighter colour in year two and onwards. Chill seed in the fridge for 1 week to help the germination. Press seed into soil but do not cover. Scarlet clusters of flowers atop 100 cm plants. Transplant out in late May about 30 cm apart. Tolerates some shade, but does equally well in full sun. Old fashioned favorite that is starting to make a comeback. Very winter hardy perennial. Can be sown outdoors in spring to bloom the following summer.   100 seeds.    P592
