VERONICA PROSTRATA:
Another choice alpine species
for the rockery or similar feature. Growing
to 20 cm tall, spikes or pale to dark blue and even the occasional white flowers
are produced in late May and into July. Full sun and well-drained soil is
needed. The plants will form a mat
or small colony over time. Seeds
should be moist stratified for 3-4 weeks prior to planting inside in April.
Seeds need light to germinate – cover with .5 cm of soil.
Plants may act as an evergreen, so do not trim the foliage until spring.
