SNOW-IN-SUMMER: An excellent June flowering border or rock garden specimen that only grows 12-15 cm high and has masses of white blooms. Sow outdoors in late May when danger of frost is gone and the soil is sufficiently warm. Thin to 20 cm apart. Choose a site in full sun but with rather poor soil conditions to limit the aggressive nature of Cerastium. Mature plant clumps can be divided each spring or fall, but try not to disturb the tender root systems. Can be started indoors in March in peat pots. Scatter seed on the soil surface and moisten. Grow plants at about 16 degrees for the best results. 100 seeds. P469
