PINK CHECKERMALLOW:
This native of New Mexico and the Southwestern States does very well here in a sunny, dry location. It spreads slowly under the soil to form a colony over time. Blooming in late June and into July, the soft pink mallow-like flowers are borne on stems to 40 cm tall. Seeds should be started in cell trays in spring - warm even temperatures will aid in germination. Seeds should be cover with .5 cm of soil and keep moist. Transplant when seedlings are of adequate size. 40 seeds. P649
