MRS BRADSHAW’S AVENS: Saucer-shaped scarlet flowers appear in late spring and continue until August on this clumping species. Plants are multi-branched and can reach heights of 60 cm or more. Full sun and fertile soils work best. As with all Geum species, the seeds have small ‘hooks’ to attach to anything or anyone passing by. Seeds can be direct seeded in April, but the best success will be achieved by starting indoors and transplanting out. Cover the seeds with .5 cm of soil and keep warm and moist. 50 seeds. P536
