LAVATERA CASHMERIANA: Proven hardy in our growing plots, this species
more closely resembles the Mallow family rather than its annual relative.
Plants grow 50-80 cm tall and produce an abundance of soft pink flowers
in late June through till September. Full
sun or morning shade is preferred with average soils and moisture.
Seeds can be direct sown in late fall/early spring but the best results
come from starting inside in containers in early April and transplanting out.
Cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil.
