
JACOB'S LADDER: This plant received it's name from its alternate leaves that are arranged in a ladder-like pattern. A mid-sized plant (to 90 cm) with pretty azure blue flowers that will tolerate some shade, and fairly cool, damp conditions. Compost rich soil is recommended. Jacob's Ladder does not thrive in extremely hot conditions. After flowering is done, divide the plants in the fall. Start in cell trays in April or direct outdoors in May. Refrigerate seed for 1 week to aid in germination. Do not cover the seed, but keep moist until germination occurs. 60 seeds. P626
