
HYSSOP: This aromatic plant makes a great border with it's showy blue and sometimes pink, flower spikes. Traditionally used to flavour soups and wild game, the leaves and flowers are also common ingredients in potpurri. The essential oil from the plant is used in the perfume industry. Direct seed in early spring or start indoors in April and transplant to a sunny location in May. Hyssop is easy to grow and on the aggressive side so be careful where you place it. Attracts bees, butterflies and the occasional hummingbird. Grows to 60 cm tall. Average soil is best. 60 seeds. P560
