VERBASCUM CHAIXII: This close relative of Mullien, is a much more manageable addition to the flowerbed. Growing to only 120 cm tall, the white to yellow flowers have a red to deep pink 'eye' and appear on spikes. Each plant can have numerous flower spikes blooming in mid summer - making this a unique attraction in the perennial bed. A biennial or short-lived perennial. Full sun and soil rich in organic matter seems to suit it best. Seeds are tiny and need light to germinate - cover with just a light dusting of soil. Best to start indoors and transplant at a later date - I have not tried direct seeding but it should work. 100 seeds. P650
