YELLOW PENSTEMON: Native to the foothills areas of Alberta, this dainty 30-50 cm high plant makes a wonderful addition to a rock garden. Pale yellow tube-shaped flowers appear in late May and early June. Prefers full sun and conditions on the drier side. Works well in raised beds. Seed in early spring in flats and transplant or direct after a 2 week stratification in the fridge. Press seed into the soil, but do not cover. As Penstemons go to flower early, plant later blooming flowers in and amongst. P. confertus, P. gracilis and P. procerus grown together make a great display in early summer.   60 seeds.    NF818
