WHITE EVENING PRIMROSE:   A good choice for the xeriscape garden, this species grows to 120 cm tall with large white to pinkish flowers in midsummer. Almost lacking in foliage, it produces numerous stiff stems that the flowers are borne on. Spreading by underground rhizomes, it is not suited for the formal garden! Seeds should be sown in late fall or early spring direct, or moist stratified for 2-3 weeks prior to an indoor spring planting. Cover the seeds with just a light dusting of soil. Full sun and poor sandy, gravelly soil suit it best - as long as there is good drainage for the roots, it seems to grow anywhere.   100 seeds.    NF813
