
SMOOTH FLEABANE: A common fleabane in much of Alberta, contrary to its name this species is often hairy. Difficult to distinguish from other similar fleabanes it usually forms small clumps over time - plants reach 60-70 cm tall with numerous pink to purple to whitish flower heads appearing in late spring and early summer. Seeds can be sown direct in late fall, early spring or started indoors in April to be transplanted at a later date. Full sun or morning shade with average soil and moisture suit this species best - quite drought tolerant once established though. Cover seeds with just a light dusting of soil. Seeds may benefit from a moist stratification period of 2-3 weeks. 100 seeds. NF766
