PRAIRIE SUNFLOWER: This cheery annual native sunflower will warm the heart even on the cloudiest days. Blooms from mid summer till late fall. Each plant produces as many as 30 bright yellow flowers approx. 7 cm across with a deep brown centre. The Goldfinches and I fight for the seeds from these plants each fall- usually they get the majority. Dry stratify the seeds for 3-4 weeks prior to a spring planting or seed in mid October. Makes a great cut flower. Full sun and dried soil suit it best. To 120 cm tall.   80 seeds.    NF784
