
MEADOW BLAZINGSTAR: Taller than its close relative the Dotted Blazingstar, this Liatris is home in the open Aspen forest and mixed grass prairie of the Prairie provinces. Growing 80 - 100 cm tall, the purple flowers appear on tall spires. Best when planted in groups, they attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Moist stratify the seeds for 5 weeks prior to a spring planting or seed in late October. Full sun or just a little shade and well drained soils suit this species best. 80 seeds. NF792
