PRAIRIE BLUEBELL: A common sight in drier parts of the province and in the mountains, Harebells as they are called by some, are a tufted perennial that produces many delicate purple-to-blue bells that hang from slender stems. Rhizomatous in nature, mature clumps should be divided every two years. Seeds are extremely tiny and should be moist stratified for 3 weeks prior to spring planting or seed in the fall. Do not cover the seeds as they need light to germinate- simply press them into the moist soil. Open, sunny sites with soil on the dry side suit this species best. Grows to 40 cm tall.   100 seeds.    NF738
