MEADOW ARNICA: This foothill and parkland native does well in moist shaded areas. Arnica does spread by rhizomes under the soil - but I don't find them to be aggressive in nature. As many as 20 or more bright yellow flowers, reminiscent of mini sunflowers, cover the plant through most of the summer. Easy to grow from seed - if you start them indoors in March they bloom the first season. Can be fall seeded or stratified for 3 weeks and planted in the spring - cover the seed only slightly. Ideal for edgings around spruce trees and evergreens as they tolerate some acidity. Arnicas are toxic and the plant should never be eaten.   50 seeds.    NF715
