ORLAYA GRANDIFLORA:  Perfect as a cut flower, this species produces umbels of large white flowers on stiff stems of 40-60 cm.  Growing best in full sun with fertile evenly moist soils.  We grow it next to Lavatera, as the two bloom at the same time and look fantastic together.  The seeds are large and covered with sharp hooks so be careful when planting.  Seeds can be direct sown in early May or started indoors and transplanted later.  Cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil and keep moist.  50 seeds.    A172
